As a non-practicing lawyer, ombuds, mediator and parent, I have a unique perspective on conflict and the practical tools that people can use to resolve, or better yet prevent, disputes.

I practiced civil litigation (corporate / commercial) for several years at Stikeman Elliott, LLP in Toronto, and spent over 5 years as the Assistant Ombudsperson at Ryerson University.  As an independent ombudsperson I provided confidential and impartial advice on university policies and procedures and assisted with investigations of student complaints of unfair treatment/decision-making.  I am currently the Manager for a new Conflict Resolution Support Centre for Graduate Students at the University of Toronto.

I am a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada, and a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario.

ADR Institute of Ontario Inc.

I completed the comprehensive ADR and Advanced ADR (Mediation) courses through the Stitt Feld Handy Group (2013) as part of my ongoing commitment to continuing education.  I have specialized training and education in Elder Mediation; wills and estates issues; trusts; tax; dementia and Alzheimer’s; elder abuse; and advanced care planning.  I also have a clear Toronto Police Check for working with vulnerable populations.
